About WibbyTools

WibbyTools collects the file tasks you only do now and then and would rather not install software for: converting an image, merging PDFs, trimming a video, running a quick calculation.

Why the site exists

Almost every simple file task runs into a heavy program, a signup form or a watermark. Someone who turns a PNG into a JPG once a month should not have to install anything or create an account for it.

WibbyTools was built to finish those tasks on the spot, in the browser, in six languages, and to stay usable on a phone. Every tool has its own page explaining what it does and where its limits are.

How the tools work

Most of them run entirely in your browser: calculators, unit converters, generators and text tools never send anything over the internet. What you type stays on your device.

File tools (image, PDF, audio and video) need a server, because they rely on heavy software such as FFmpeg and PDF libraries. In those cases the file is uploaded, processed and deleted automatically within two hours.

Built on open source

The tools stand on well-established free projects: FFmpeg for audio and video, Sharp and libvips for images, pdf-lib and pdf.js for PDF, Chromium for rendering pages and yt-dlp for downloading public social media content.

That is what keeps the site free and independent from paid APIs that change their prices and rules.

Who runs it

WibbyTools is an independent project run by a small team, with no investors and no data selling. Server costs are covered by advertising and by paid plans for heavy users.
