What counts as a palindrome
A palindrome reads the same in both directions, like "racecar" or "madam". For phrases, the usual convention is to ignore spaces, punctuation and capitalization, so "A man, a plan, a canal: Panama" counts.
This checker also ignores accents, so phrases in Portuguese, Spanish, French and other languages are compared fairly.
