Frequently asked questions
No, it is a scrambled excerpt derived from a Latin text by Cicero, deliberately non-meaningful.
Why designers still use Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum is scrambled, meaningless Latin-derived text that has been the standard filler for mockups and layouts since the 1500s. Because it does not read as meaningful content, it keeps reviewers focused on layout, spacing and typography instead of getting distracted by the actual words.
It is widely recognized by designers and developers, so using it signals "this text is a placeholder" instantly, without a note explaining that the copy is not final.
