Frequently asked questions
No. Each line stays where it first appeared; later repetitions are simply removed.
Why duplicate lines cause real problems
Duplicates sneak into every list that is built by hand or merged from several sources. In a mailing list they mean the same person gets your campaign twice; in an inventory export they inflate stock; in a keyword list they skew your research.
This finder compares every line with every other one and reports how many times each repeated entry appears, sorted from the most frequent. The clean version keeps the first occurrence of each line in its original order, so the list still makes sense afterwards.
By default the comparison ignores capital letters and extra spaces at the edges, which catches entries like “John@Mail.com ” and “john@mail.com”. Turn those options off when every character matters. Your text is not stored.
